What is the difference between the topic text links and the open textbooks?

Some of the primary differences between the “open textbook” PDF files and the HTML “texts” (embedded in the intro section of the Moodle course; available elsewhere for other users) are:

HTML texts

  • organized by individual topic,
  • include pop-up glossary terms,
  • include show/hide problems,
  • includes manipulatives

Open textbook PDFs

  • organized by unit,
  • include a TOC at the beginning,
  • include objective identification throughout the content,
  • includes a ‘unit recap’ and glossary at the end of each unit
  • the show/hide problems are identified as ‘self check’ with the answers at the end of each topic,
