If you have a website filter in place you can do the following to ensure your students don’t have trouble using EdReady.
Make sure that students can access any domain including ‘edready.org’ as well as receive emails from firstname.lastname@example.org.
The additional web content filter settings required will depend on the filtering approach employed by your institution. If you allow sites that have not specifically been blocked, your students should have no trouble using EdReady.
If you block any site that has not been specifically allowed, your students may have trouble accessing the resources available in EdReady unless you whitelist the IP addresses in use by EdReady.org.
You can find out the current set of IP addresses by checking THIS LINK.
Currently, EdReady.org uses the two unique IP addresses displayed when you follow the above link. Note that the number of IPs addresses and their values may change without warning given the website's ability to scale and balance loads on demand. Subscribe to the list (see below) to be alerted any time there is a change so you can keep your whitelists up to date.
We have had one report where a member had to also explicitly allow access to the following URLs in order to access the resources within EdReady. If you're having trouble we recommend you also whitelist the following:
EdReady’s architecture is designed so that the server load is dynamically distributed across as set of elastic resources. Significant changes in server load, availability, or network provider maintenance can result changes to the IPs addresses used by EdReady. The IP Addresses list above may be stable for weeks or months, or may change multiple times over the span of a week. If you would like to avoid frequent updates to your content filter whitelist, you can choose to open a range of IP addresses associated with Amazon AWS load balancers and and EC2 instances. Be aware that adding a range of addresses potentially opens up your network to content and websites that are not part of EdReady.org.

If your institution requires manual whitelisting of these addresses, you can keep informed of any updates by:
- Returning to this article: the link to the current list if IP Addresses will always be available here.
- Completing this form to be added to our mailing list for this topic. We will alert anyone on this list if EdReady has additional IP addresses added to its server configuration.
Note that we have little capacity to troubleshoot content blockers and filters that we do not control. We will do our best to provide any insight we might have if you have a problem, but in all cases to date, the issue has resided with the permissions and settings on the content-blocking software, not a lack of information or improper behavior on the EdReady side.
